The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) is one of the institutes and centers that comprise NIH.  The NIH's mission is to uncover new knowledge that will lead to better health for everyone. Their site makes it easy to search specific topics related to hearing health.

Washington State Early Hearing Loss Detection, Diagnosis, and Intervention (EHDDI)

The EHDDI Program works to make sure hospitals and doctors understand and follow the above national 1-3-6 goals. To do this, we collect hearing test results on all babies born in Washington. When babies need further testing, we provide follow-up recommendations to their doctors. The doctors will then help families get further services that are needed.
