Tailored Hearing Solutions
At our office, we think about hearing loss solutions differently. That means we think about hearing aids differently! We work hard to make sure each patient has aids that work best their age, level of hearing loss, and communication needs. Everyone is unique, and their hearing loss solutions should be too!
The relationship between you and your audiologist becomes an important factor in achieving personal hearing solutions. Our audiologists are trained in helping each patient decide what device best meets their unique hearing loss, budget and lifestyle.
STEP 1: HEARING EVALUATION
The first and most important step in fitting our patients with aids is a hearing test! This one-hour appointment allows us to assess your hearing and find the level of technology that is most appropriate for your hearing loss. If you'd like to learn more about hearing testing, visit our Adult Hearing Evaluation Page!
STEP 2: HEARING AID EVALUATION
During this hour-long appointment, we discuss with our patients what is most important to them when choosing a device. We program a number of aids to their hearing loss and allow them to test each device in our office with background speech and noise. This is also where we cover differences in cost and technology capabilities. At the end of the appointment, we will go ahead and order the chosen aids and schedule a fitting appointment. We can also refer you to our billing department to discuss deposits and payment plans.
STEP 3: HEARING AID FITTING
A hearing aid fitting is scheduled two weeks after your hearing aid evaluation and is scheduled for 1 hour. During your fitting, you'll have the opportunity to try the hearing aid you've chosen during your evaluation. Our audiologist will walk you though the capabilities and care of your new hearing aids. At the end of this appointment, your 30-day trial will begin. We recommend reaching out during this time so we can track progress before your 2-week follow-up.
STEP 4: TWO-WEEK FOLLOW-UP
Your two-week follow up visit is essential in ensuring that the hearing aids you've chosen are the right fit for you. We use this time to adjust volume and tones, talk about your programs a little more, and address any questions or concerns that have come up since your fitting.
STEP 5: ADDITIONAL FOLLOW-UP AND MAINTENANCE
Like any new piece of technology, there is a learning curve! On average, our patients will schedule 3-5 follow-up visits within the first 3 months. Slight tweaks to programming and adjustments are all part of the process. You truly won't know how the aids will work in difference situations until you are in those situations! When you do, we can tailor your programming accordingly!
